About the Department

The department was established during the year 2010, with the courses offered for under graduate Computer Science, after that Post graduate course in Computer Science also extended during 2011 with Computer Science

Vision

To contribute the important national Endeavour to produce quality human resource with high technical background in the IT and related areas for sustainable development. To serve national community by creating awareness about IT and other related products and to impress upon them the importance of knowledge management

Mission

To produce graduates in computer science field who are competent in Information Technology profession, exhibit ethics with a responsible attitude towards the nation.
To provide an environment of collaborative learning for developing technical leadership skills among graduates.

Uniqueness of the department

The department conducted many inter-department, inter-collegiate programs to motivate students for future.
The main aim of the course is to make the students into a software engineers, developers Data Analyst, Tester, Network Administrator, Database Administrator in IT field or in Banking Sectors.
Our department conducted Guest lecture, National level seminar and International Conference to provide a paper.

A Pass in B.Sc. Computer Science/B.C.A./B.Sc. (IT) and its equivalent.

M.Phil. in Computer Science

Candidates with Masters Degree of Bharathiar University in the concerned or related discipline or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by the Syndicate of Bharathiar University are eligible.

The candidates should have passed a post-graduate degree course either with SSLC + HSC + UG + PG (i.e., 10 + 2 + 3 + 2) or with 11-years SSLC + PUC + UG + PG (i.e., 11 + 1 + 3 + 2) or with 10-years SSLC + 3 years Diploma + 2 years UG degree + 2 years PG (i.e., 10 + 3 + 2 + 2) or with 10 years SSLC + HSC + 4 years UG degree and 1 year PG degree (i.e., 10 + 2 + 4 + 1). Thus, only the candidates possessing a PG degree with 17 years of total duration of study alone are eligible for admission to the M. Phil., programs.

The candidates possessing professional degrees such as M. E., and M. Tech., and PG degree in Medicine, Law, Agriculture and similar other professional courses are not eligible for admission to the M. Phil., programs in the University.

Ph.D. in Computer Science

Eligibility – The candidates should have passed a post-graduate degree course either with SSLC + HSC + UG + PG (i.e., 10 + 2 + 3 + 2) or with 11-years SSLC + PUC + UG + PG (i.e., 11 + 1 + 3 + 2) or with 10-years SSLC + 3 years Diploma + 2 years UG degree + 2 years PG (i.e., 10 + 3 + 2 + 2) or with 10 years SSLC + HSC + 4 years UG degree and 1 year PG degree (i.e., 10 + 2 + 4 + 1).
